December 2009 Reuters agency presents the stock market research. According to the results of 2009, Ukraine is in the list of top 10 of the most attractive markets.
It turns out that the global financial crisis of 2008-2009, permanent disputes between top politicians and the outflow of investments havent had much negative influence on the stock market of Ukraine. However, according to the same survey the results of the last decade are even more interesting Ukraine gets the best world result with unbeatable growth index in 10 times (890%).
Is it really that wonderful? Youd better ask the entrepreneurs who have their business in Ukraine
They will say that, of course, there are difficulties. There are difficulties everywhere, and they are different in every country. But most entrepreneurs will say that majority of companies with a serious approach to its business can operate here and get a substantial profit.
Ukrainian market is attractive because:
- there is one of the lowest prices for leading business in Europe;
- favourable geographical location:
- borders with EU;
- is on the junction of major trade routes;
- has a convenient access to CIS markets;
- highly-educated population and a lot of well–qualified professionals;
- one of the biggest IT outsourcing markets in the world;
- substantial and extensively emerging luxury market;
- the most dynamic developing democracy in the region according to the research of Freedom House;
- big market: the population of Ukraine is 46 million people;
- good dynamics of GDP growth: Ukraine is ¹32 economy in the world;
- rather low market entering threshold.
And if you try to understand what is really going on, even the seemingly negative factors turn out to be beneficial. For example
The remnants of the Soviet mentality and a prolonged transformation period => still rather low level of business culture and awareness of the population of the basic organizational processes => low competition level in almost all spheres and multiple state monopolies => the market is not filled and there is a high demand on quality goods and services.
This is how business is done here. With a good knowledge of figures, but a limited trust in statistics and even lower trust in ratings. With carefulness, but based mostly on personal relationships. With the profound understanding of the situation and without haste. With self-belief, trust in the future of the country and the common sense.
So, good luck in all your beginnings! |
